The Messanger

The Messanger

Mixed Media on Canvas / Oil Finish / 16” × 20”

Part of my Whispers of Resilience three-painting mini series, The Messenger celebrates the quiet return of hope.

After months of winter, when the world feels still and color seems to disappear, spring arrives with a message of its own. The songs of birds fill the air, flowers begin to bloom, and nature gently reminds us that every season of stillness is followed by new life.

Living in South Jersey, I look forward to that first feeling each year—the moment the windows open, fresh air fills the house, and the world invites me outside again. To me, the cardinal is that messenger, calling us to wake up, breathe deeply, embrace the beauty around us, and begin again.

Like every piece in Whispers of Resilience, this painting is a reminder that resilience is often found in life’s quietest moments, when nature shows us that every ending is also the beginning of something new.
